Kevin Hart blames goat yoga for Super Bowl antics

Kevin Hart has a new workout plan. The comedian and honorary Super Bowl champion is launching a new series: What The Fit, showcasing workouts from goat yoga to sumo wrestling that he did with his celebrity friends.

"Anybody that knows me or follows me, knows that I live a healthy lifestyle," he told For The Win in an interview last month. "I practice what I preach. I said the best thing about working out is that it's fun. Yeah, I'm aware that working out can be tough at times. It's a mental strain for some.

"But I think when you come from a perspective of where you can always have a good time, and while having a good time actually get some movement to where you're taking care of yourself, it's a different ballgame. So I said how do I show that? The best way to show that is to film myself with my friends … and have a good time while doing what I consider to be healthy."

Hart, of course, has shown off his athleticism before: He was named the MVP of the NBA Celebrity All-Star game so many times that he had to retire. At least, that's his version of why he hung up his sneakers.

"I can't fit anymore in my trophy case," he said. "It definitely used to be something I took great pride and joy in that I looked the part - because I talked so much trash. So I can't go out there stinking completely."

Is the key to talking trash being prepared through workouts? Or what other keys do you have to be the best trash talker?

You have to be oblivious of you backing it up or not. Like if I talk a bunch of trash and I say I'm going to go out there and score 35 points and I only score four, in my mind, those four points that I scored were the most crucial four points of the game. So I'll find a way to make it work. That's the beauty of trash talk, it's word play. So you have to know how to flip it.

So, I was watching the segment you did with LaVar Ball. On that note about trash talk, would you almost say you respect him if that's what the best trash talk is?

The word respect is a crazy word to use, I can say that from a father's point of view, I can understand that man's love for his kids. He wants the best for all of his boys and he wants them all to win and I think that sometimes that love and passion can come out in some crazy ways. Ultimately you're just looking at a father that wants to see his kids win. You can't knock him for that. You can knock him for his approach at times, but he's just a man that loves his kids with every ounce of his being, that's all.

How long did it take you to get over that Super Bowl hangover?

I'm still getting over it. I think I'm still tipsy as we speak. It hasn't left my body. Due to my schedule, I can't party and drink as much as I want to, so when I do have a very rare day off - which comes very far, few and in between - I like to take advantage of those days. I mean, that Super Bowl Sunday was the first Sunday off that I'd have in I don't know how long. It may have been (a few months) since I had a day off, a full day with a day behind it that I was off. So being that I had that, I said I'm going to have a good time and I'm going to enjoy myself. And I got to witness history while enjoying myself? It doesn't get better than that.

Did you make it to the after party with the team?

There was nowhere that I could go. I actually don't remember much after that. The whole night became a blur after that.

So I've found that when I work out more, I have pretty much zero tolerance of alcohol. Do you think your new workouts could be to blame for the Super Bowl hangover?

I'm very healthy. I mean I eat well. I'm a heavy water drinker. And I think you get so much energy from taking care of yourself. But you do become a lightweight. You take one shot and you're like 'I've got to sit down.' That, mixed with the fact that I'm getting older, there comes a time in your life when reality hits. And when that reality hits, you've got to say to yourself: 'It may be over. It may be time for me to sip on a glass of wine and that's it. The days of tequila shots are done. Let me sit my ass down.'

What was the toughest workout that you did for this series?

Man, that's a tough question because they were all so good. The goat yoga with Khloe was pretty crazy. Just simply because the goats were going to the bathroom all over the place like there was no tomorrow. I've never seen anything like it. Nobody was acting like it was a big deal, but it was bothering me. It was a lot.

Would you do it again?

I'm not going to say I wouldn't. It's an experience. I would just go in there and make sure that I had some gloves on and a long sleeve shirt so I don't get goat pee or goat poop on me.
