Tennessee Highway Patrol officer 'seriously injured' in Benton County crash

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Tennessee Highway Patrol officer was seriously hurt following a crash in Benton County.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Trooper Douglas Williams was riding his motorcycle when he was struck from behind. THP says the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Williams, an 11-year veteran, was on patrol at the time of the collision.
