The first-ever teaser for M Night Shyamalan’s forthcoming movie Old was released during the 2021 Super Bowl.

The follow-up to Shyamalan’s 2019 film Glass, Old centers around a group of people who find a dead body on a beach and begin to realize that something unnatural is happening.

The film stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung, Rufus Sewell, Embeth Davidtz, and Emun Elliott.

In the 30-second trailer, a group of tourists spending time on the aforementioned beach, which they are unable to leave, appear to be aging very rapidly, much to the shock and terror of those around them.

As Polygon points out, Old is part of a group of new films shot under strict set guidelines during the Covid-19 pandemic. Shyamalan, who usually shoots around his home of Philadelphia, began shooting Old in October 2020, in the Dominican Republic.

Old is currently set to release in theaters on 23 July via Universal Pictures.

Old was originally set for release on 26 February but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As is usually the case with The Sixth Sense and Split director, the details surrounding Old remain vague. Shyamalan wrote the screenplay, and has reunited with Glass and Split cinematographer Mike Gioulakis, who also worked on Jordan Peele’s Us and David Robert Mitchell’s It Follows.
