Eagles fall to third in latest Super Bowl odds

The Eagles look like the NFL's best team. They're sitting at 9-1 and have been blowing out opponents for fun. Philadelphia's most recent performance was an all-around destruction of the Cowboys in primetime.

But Las Vegas isn't buying into the hype quite yet. The updated Super Bowl odds do not have the team with the NFL's best record as the betting favorite to win it all. In fact, the Eagles do not even have the second-best odds…

The Patriots topping the list makes sense. Tom Brady is playing at an MVP level, and the defense has rounded into shape over the last few months. As long as Bill Belichick and Brady are together, New England should never not be the favorites to win it all.

The Steelers coming in at second is a little strange. After all, they have to get through the Patriots to even make it to the Super Bowl. And the Steelers haven't been very convincing throughout the season. They lost to the Bears and Jaguars and nearly lost two weeks ago to the lowly Colts. Are we sure they are even the second-best team in the AFC?

Meanwhile, Philadelphia's lone loss was way back in Week 2 against the Chiefs, who were red hot at the time, in Arrowhead. The Eagles also own the league's best point differential by a wide margin. Philly has won five of its last six by at least 10 points. It's lone single-digit win over that span was a road victory over 7-3 Carolina.

Is it possible that Vegas is sleeping on the team that has looked like the best in the league? Or do the sharps know something we don't?
