Giants vs. Falcons: Score, results, highlights from 'Monday Night Football'

Falcons-Marvin-Hall

The Giants season-long struggles continue to persist.

On Monday they found themselves on the losing end of another game, dropping to 1-6 on the season after losing 23-20 to the Falcons (3-4).

Monday's loss was marred by questionable coaching decisions, starting with coach Pat Shurmur opting to go for two over kicking an extra-point with 4:47 left in the game. The failure to convert put the Giants down five points, and although they found the end zone again, it was too late.

Too much time had ticked off the clock on the Giants final drive, largely due to Eli Manning attempting back-to-back unsuccessful quarterback sneaks.

The Falcons' offense was slow out of the gate, but they held strong defensively to stay in the lead throughout the game and 13 fourth quarter points, headlined by two 50-plus yard field goals from Giorgio Tavecchio, were enough to secure the win.

Both quarterbacks put up excellent stats, with Manning and Matt Ryan throwing for 399 and 379 yards respectively, and neither turned the ball over. Stalled drives and several first half sacks led to a relatively low-scoring game.
