PHILADELPHIA -- Kicker David Akers will join Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and Brian Dawkins as players from Andy Reid's era as head coach in the Eagles' team Hall of Fame, and former All-Pro left tackle Tra Thomas says he feels he deserves enshrinement alongside his former teammates.
"Shoot, I'm trying to get into the Eagles' Hall of Fame," Thomas said during an appearance on NJ Advance Media's The No Huddle Show Podcast. "Everybody else is being put into the Hall of Fame based off of their numbers ... Westbrook, McNabb, even Akers are going into it. But, you know, Get your boy in there."
Along with making the case that he feels he deserves to be enshrined both in the Eagles' Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Thomas says that there are several players from Reid's era that produced five trips to the NFC Championship Game and a Super Bowl berth who merit enshrinement.
"I think Dawkins definitely should have gone," Thomas said, when asked which of his teammates' busts is most deserving to reside in Canton. "Dawkins definitely should have gone. I'd like to see McNabb go, just because of what he was able to do for the organization and all the records that he set and those record that were set during that era."
Thomas does have an impressive resume that includes making the All-Pro team in 2002, three berths in the Pro Bowl and recognition as a member of the Eagles' 75th Anniversary Team.
In addition to discussing which players should represent those Reid teams in the Hall of Fame, Thomas broke down how he believes the Eagles can fix the running game this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, reminisced about his favorite times playing for Reid, and even made a bold prediction for Sunday afternoon.
