UAB has its spring football game at Legion Field today at 1 p.m.
The game will be on TV on Birmingham's ABC affiliate and on ESPN3.
This post will have updates from the game. Hit Refresh and/or leave comments. Here is a preview. The Green team features 1A/1B players and the Gold is 2A/2B. Head coach Bill Clark wanted it this way so it would be more of a game-like situation for his players who would be playing in a game.

GREEN 42, GOLD 7 (6:57): Tyler Johnston finds Collin Lisa down the right sideline for about a 60-yard TD pass.
HALFTIME
Green leads Gold 35-7. I'd expect second half, at least fourth quarter, the clock to run. Things that look good: Donnie Lee, the use of tight ends, the Green defense. Things that don't: UAB's Green team is putting the ball on the ground too many times. It's been at least 3 or 4 (regardless of what these quickie stats say). But they recovered all of them.
SECOND QUARTER
GREEN 35, GOLD 7 (7:34): Erdely leads another drive down the field, and Donnie Lee scores his second touchdown, this time on an 8-yard run.
FIRST QUARTER
GREEN 28, GOLD 7 (0:51): A.J. Erdely finds an open tight end Thair Blakes down the left sideline for a 38-yard touchdown pass
GREEN 21, GOLD 7 (3:29): Tyler Johnston comes in for his first series and leads the Green down the field. Had a nice completion to Collin Lisa on a third down to keep chains moving and Johnston scores on a 7-yard TD run.
GREEN 14, GOLD 7 (7:39): Nice drive led by Michael Turner against the 1s defense. Carlos Stephens with a 4-yard touchdown run for the Gold.
GREEN 14, GOLD 0 (9:50): Donnie Lee scores from 25 yards out. He was a linebacker two weeks ago.
11:11 - Gold three and out. Collin Lisa fumbled punt but fell on it at midfield.
* GREEN 7, GOLD 0 (12:58): James Noble on a 1-yard touchdown run and Nick Vogel the PAT. Drive started with about a 40-yard short pass from A.J. Erdely to tight end Logan Scott into Gold territory
* Collin Lisa and Demetrius Davis were back to return kicks for Green team on first kickoff
